Journal #9
okay so for my first transaction I invested in 4200 shares of Renesola (SOL) a business that does solar energy. My reason for looking at more solar stocks is that my other one JASO is doing very well right now and Renesola had a cheap price compared to its overall 52 week range so that sparked my interest. looking at its competitors most are up so that indicates that this type of business is profitable right now so thats why I did my first transaction.
my second transaction i sold target to keep my profit with the company.

Job Shadow
alright so for my job shadow i'm doing Gottch Therapy by Metzler and Moore Real Estate on Coulter. My guys name is Ken and from talking to him he sounds like a real fun guy. He told me I have to dress in slacks and dress up because he has too so if he has too I have too. I get a lunch break from 12 to 1 and i have to bring a clean spiral notebook so I can take notes and discuss patients with him. The job day starts at 8 and I will probably stay the whole work day until five, and my job shadow is different from most of yours because i'm going on thursday instead of wednesday because he requested I do that because they are more busy on thursdays then wednesdays so he thought i'd get more out of the experience, and thats my job shadow

Game Standards
3.2) Students formulate solutions to Economic Problems
The Game helps us understand this benchmark by when were creating our city say I want to build another Taxi service but build one without first hiring another Driver so I would have to figure out what to do to find another driver, find a place to put the new taxi service, and keep making money to support its business.
3.1) Students explain how different economic systems are orgazized for production, distribution, and comsumption of goods and services.
We can learn this from the game by managing our money and attemptin to make a profit because we have to manage our economic systems well if were going to make a profit and we have to make sure we dont product and distribute more then will be consumed or we will lose money and the point of the game is to have an awesome city and make money so we learn that benchmark from the game as well.
3.3) Students demonstrate an understanding of economic principals that influence individual financial planning.
I think you can learn this from the game by playing it and using contracts because when you formulate contracts with your businesses your using economic principals but you also have to watch your money so you don't start any contracts that you can't pay for.
4.3) Students evaluate the impact of technology and how it has shaped history and influence the modern world.
You can learn this from the game by looking at transportation and buildings. Without some of the technology you wouldn't be able to transport people with a taxi service, and you wouldn't be able to build tall skyscrapers that serve as the work place for your entrepeneurs.
4.2) Students analyze current events to better understand the world in which they live.
I think you can learn this from the game by looking at contracts and understanding when they finish so you can start new ones and you have to pay attention so you know when they finish.
4.4) Students explain how past events impact the present and the future.
I think you can learn this from My country by looking at the stuff you gotten in the past and seeing what you can do with it to influence your decisions that could be fruitful in the future or really hurt your city. it makes you have to pay attention to what you doing so you don't do anything you'll regret with your money, countrybucks etc.
5.1) Students interpret charts maps and graphs to answer questions dealing with people places events or enviorments.
I could do this by studying economic graphs, and stock graphs such as when I do most of my journals by looking at 52 week range etc.
5.3) Students demonstrate and ability to organize and process information about people places and enviorments.
I have demonstrated this in the game by organizing my buildings into sectors making them easier to organize my profits and and contracts.

Candy Stocks
We went into the room and got our group huddled in one corner of the room then you said to start collecting candy so Cameron, Alex, and I and this little fifth grade girl started grabbing at much candy as we could and out of all the groups we ended up with the largest pile of candy on our table then you said it was gonna be similiar to the pit with prices fluctuating and being hectic while trading stocks then you said to start trading while trading it got really loud hectic and hot in the room we got a lot of the mr. goodbar when you said the ceo had controversy so we got them very cheap and they ended up having a very good price at the end so it was a good deal. overall i really enjoyed it and the fifth graders were fun to trade with.

Journal #4 10-13-11
Transaction #1 - I decided to invest in 35 more stocks of Amazon.com (AMZN) my main reason for this is that when I first bought some the price dropped very badly but I held on to the stock to see what it would do and its started to go up again and its near the price of where I firsrt bought it at so i decided to invest in more shares because I believe it to profit. When I looked at competitors Amazon's P/E ratio was signifigantly very higher to competitors and its similiar competitors like Barnes and Nobles are higher on their 52 week range then Amazon and Amazon has more room to rise which is why I like Amazon.

Journal #3 10-6-11
Transaction #1 - Today I decided to invest in 200 more shares of Barrick Gold because the price of the stock is rising considerably and according to the 52 week range this is just the median of its top price throughout the year and like i said on my earlier post the competitiveness of this gold stock with its competitors is superb.
Transaction #2 - I also decided to invest in 500 more shares of Ford because the price is rising and ford is close to releasing their new line of vehicles so I predict the price to keep rising, and the 52 week range says with new releases the stock price goes up and compared to competitors ford is the best option.

Journal #2 9-29-11
Transaction #1 - Today I decided to shortsell my 50 shares of amazon because when I looked at the stocks 52 week range and how it is doing currently the price is plummeting and I expect it to do that with a couple days and I'm shortselling so I can make money off of stock.
Transaction #2 - I also decided to invest in 500 shares of ford because with what the 52 week range told me the price of the stock has stayed fairly consistent even with operation twist and according to the graphs showing competitors ford was the best option.

Journal #1 9-23-11
Transaction #1 - Today I decided to Invest in 200 shares of Barrick Gold Corporation because #1 even with the operation twist and virtually every gold stock took a large hit but with this stock the price stayed fairly consistent, and at the moment according to Yahoo Finance its price is in about the mid of its consistent 52 week range so I expect its price to go up after I purchase it. If the stocks price goes down however I have a backup plan to shortsell it and make a return on my investment either way.

9/11 Post
I believe that it is actually a draw at the moment. My reasons for saying this are that Osama is dead but the terrorists went after our economy and our economy is down at the moment so i say its even because in my opinion its all about shock value who can get the others mouth to drop in fear, amazement etc. Shock value rules because like when 9/11 struck america was shocked and paralyzed for a while, and when Osama was killed the terrorists were in shock that their leader was actually stuck down so I believe its a draw
